Sarah’s 2022 reflection

2022 reflection

What event do you remember the most?

What I remember the most is camp, because it was the best time of my life!

Why do you remember it so clearly?

Because it was the best moment that I got to cherish with friends and teachers, and it was also best time that I made new friends.

What event did you enjoy the most?

It was camp of course!

What did you enjoy about it?

What I enjoyed about it, was that I got to go scuba diving and saw so many different marine animals!

What subject have you improved best in?

I would say writing.

What subject have you enjoyed the most and why?

I enjoyed writing more, because you can always write about anything and be creative.

What new friendships have you made?

I have made so many new friendships these past few years at Waikowhai Primary. I even made new friends at zones with the people that I don’t usually hang out with!

What responsibility and opportunities have you completed?

I got to do every responsibility in the seniors, and got very good opportunities this year at Waikowhai Primary!

What did you think about those opportunities and responsibility?

I think that I have had the best opportunities and responsibilities in the world! Most kids around  the world haven’t been able to get that opportunity and responsibility, and I am really proud of myself for what I have accomplished at Waikowhai Primary

What would you like to share about 2022

2022 was amazing!! It was probably the best year I ever had at Waikowhai Primary School. It would be a handful leaving Waikowhai, because I have had so many memories, responsibility and opportunities! 2022 has been the best year at Waikowhai Primary.

Thoughts and feelings about 2022

My thoughts and feelings about 2022 are like what I said on the 10th question. It has been the best year of my life. It has been a great pleasure learning at Waikowhai Primary, and being a Waikowhai student! Teachers got to watch each year six grow up to be mature young women and men. I cannot wait to leave Waikowhai Primary (and not in a mean way) to start a new chapter in my life!

The black ferns game

The Black Ferns are New Zealand’s women’s team. They are going to be playing their quarter final game this Saturday.  A young woman has entered the world cup game. Her name is Silvia Brunt, and she was a Waikowhai student which is our school. She was only 18 years old when she entered the Black Ferns. She is known to be the youngest woman to enter the black ferns. Silvia Brunt first finished all her education before she joined the Black Ferns.

A business called Franchise sent us letters so we could send them to the Black Ferns. We wrote it for a reason so they could read it before they go out and win that world cup for New Zealand. The Franchise business also sent us match schedules of the countries that won or did not win. Of course the Quarter final 1, the quarter final 2 the quarter final 3, the quarter final 4, and the semi final 1 and 2 Black Ferns schedule was also in there too.

The All Blacks are having their game  40 minutes before the Black Ferns. Some people would have to choose which one to watch. I would of course choose the black Ferns. The All Blacks are having their match in Japan, and the Black Ferns are having their game at Northland in the 2 quarter finals, quarter three and four are gonna be at Waitakere, and the two last semi finals are gonna be at Eden Park.

GOOD LUCK BLACK FERNS

The best Museum trip

On Tuesday,  Te Waka Ako and I visited the  Auckland museum to learn more about volcano and history. The bus left at 9:00 am in the morning. The teachers put  all of Te Waka Ako in 4 groups.  I was really excited to go in side the museum, because I haven’t been to the museum. It was amazing, and magical. The people who worked at the museum came and introduced themselves to us, and told us about the museum. Group 1  which was our group went with Jenna and Tom to the special private volcano room where you learn about volcanoes. They also teach you about what comes out of volcanoes, like rocks and what to do and  if there is an volcano emergency. All the different types of groups each had adults for safety reason, and for supervision. The second activity we   had to explore was the pacific room where we had to find different objects from different cultures. We than had lunch, and explored and did some activities in the Auckland rooms, and went back to school to pack up.

Snorkeling

Hola new bloggers.😀!! Welcome to my blog about camp, I am going to be talking about snorkeling with my friends and teachers. On the 9th of may, the year sixes went to camp to Mangawhai on Monday. When we got there the first activity on the list was snorkeling. The instructor told us everything about snorkeling, like do not bite on the straw  where you breath on because then they are going to have to buy new ones, and they also said to put the googles on top of your ears because if you put it under your ears then it will break the seal of the googles and the seawater will come in and it will be no use of the goggles.

When they finished telling us the instructions, they said we could put on our gear and head off to sea, but they said we then they said we needed to get a buddy, board and an adult for supervision encase we drown or other emergency and other things . My buddy and I hopped on the boogy board and kicked with our big long flippers. We kicked and kicked  to the deep side because the water was murky and really hard to kick because there were big waves. And then suddenly the water was calmer and we saw snappers, sting rays and sea weed swimming  gracefully around and other cool things. When we finished and  had enough snorkeling we kicked back to shore, got changed went to the discovery center to look and touch the animals we could not touch because it was a marine beach. After we finished coming back from the discovery center we went back into the bus to drive to our cabins.

THE END!!!🤪🥰

Volleyball

On Wednesday evening, me and my class and teacher went outside to do volleyball with our coach, Tausisi. The first lesson that Tausisi told us to do is serve , the  other thing that  he told us to do is to get  partners and face each other so we can pass the ball to each other. When he finished telling us that instruction, he told us one more thing and it was to put your hand in front of you and hold the ball 45 degrees to hit it properly to your partner. After we finished doing the first instruction, he told us to do the receiving, and how you do it is you put your hand over your other hand and then put down your thumbs on top of  your hand. When he finished showing us how to do it, he told us to practice passing the ball with our partners. The other step he told us to do was set and how you do a set is you grab the ball and put it just right above your forehead and you throw it up  into the air high two times, and then you pass it to your partner after you finished throwing it up high.  After some time passed we moved onto the second step and it was spike. How you do a spike is you throw up the ball into the air and you bend your arm and hit the ball fast while it is in the air. We practices doing that and the balls flew every where. Finally it has come to the final and last step and it was block, and how you do block is very simple, you jump up into the air when the ball is coming and you hit it hard and it goes back to the other team.
